pi or aftermarket

am gettin cams for my 98 gt.....i want somethin thats gonna tone the exhaust a lil more...yanno have a lope to it....so should i go pi or like vt stage 1?

if you still have stock 98 heads you can't use VT cams or any other PI Aftermarket cams. The stock PI cams are a direct swap and Comp/Crower make NPI Cams.

if you have the money to buy aftermarket cams I would just do a pi headswap.

posibly upgrade the springs wile you have them off so you can swap in cams later if you want more power. much easier to change springs with the head off.

then again if you want lope you will need something more agressive like an aftermarket setup.

Ummm, the Comp PI cams will work in NPI heads. You will need the Crower Offset retainers and upgraded springs to run some higher lift cams in the NPI heads. You will need these for the higher lift PI Comps. I would say the ideal cam for a mild modded car would be the Comp 262AH( PI ) Cam.

Agreed. Shouldn't need new springs with this cam and a N/A setup. Very popular choice.

He won't require springs for those cams using PI heads, he will if he keeps his NPI heads.
