I have a laser red 98 gt...its 100% stock. after the new years i plan on doing the following ASAP.

bassani off-road x-pipe
bassani BX catback
and FRPP 3:73 gears
Pro 5.0 Shifter

i'm also fixing to put some FMS C springs too.

at the end of january or the beginning of feb. i'm going to be purchasing PI heads/intake.
whats a good street cams to use with the combo? i'm going to probably keep the stock exhaust manifolds for a while. I want something with a lopey decent idle that won't affect daily driving it. and how much do they cost?

how much should I pick up a set of used PI heads for? is there any identification numbers on the heads to make sure i'm buying PI heads?
same question with the PI intake, is there any way I can tell if its a PI intake? how much $$$ as well?

is there anything else I will need to complete the swap? i'm just looking to make about 270 rwhp (if that) with the combo. something to drive daily and have some fun in.

thanks for all the info guys!

Your quest for 270 hp is not far fetch with a PI swap. With cams you should benefit more.VT stage I's would be a good choice, aswell as stage II's,but stage II's will need valve springs, which will be alright for you anyways as you can install them before you install the heads.
Comps seem to work good aswell, and some have used crowers.Do a search and read closely. That is what i did a few years back on numerous boards.I really liked the responses of others about the VT's,and numbers the VT cams gave out on a stock engine.Which will make a good building block for the other mods that are to be added later.
This is numbers of my buddy's '97 GT PI head swap and mods.

If you can get the heads for a good price go ahead but I went the NPI route with cams. With the PI intake my numbers are probably only about 10 HP off of a full PI swap.
