PI swap question

My intake on the 96 gt finally cracked so i decided it would be a great time to do the PI intake and cam swap. i cant wait but i have some questions. i already bought the pi intake kit from livernois so now i jsut need cams. are used cams usually reliable or is it better to buy them new? and does anyone have any suggestions where to get them?

and also one more question. me and my stepdad are comfortable doing the intake swap but should we try the cam swap ourselves or do you guys recommend getting someone else to do it? i know it only makes sense to do it at the same time but yeah.... i saw dusstbusters long write up and it seems great but i didnt know if the cam swap was an amateur suited job. thanks and any help is appreciated.

Thanks Winters, i appreciate the consideration. But i recently sold those to a member on here. I'll pm you 4.6vert where i think is the best deal right now.
As for the install I think you can do it if you're patient and have a hand - it's really not that horrible. Easy to time pi cams as well.

do it man.. its not that bad.. just make sure you dont drop anything down in them intake ports when you have the intake off.. that was my original motors death..

the cam swap isnt that bad.. just make sure that you double check everything, drink a beer, roll the motor over with a breaker bar, take a sip of a frosty beverage, check it again. drink a brew, put it back together... then test drive!!

whoops.. DONT DRINK AND DRIVE lol
