01-04 GT

If i was to do it over again, knowing what i know now, i would have gotten a newer GT convertable.

I must agree, I would love to have the potential of a Mach. Straight axle in back and a block that has more potential than a GT

I would pick 96-98 Cobra over the 99 and 01. I think they look better.

I bought the GT becase it was new and its my daily driver.

Based on looks, performance, and my opinion.

03-04 Cobra>Mach 1>96-98 Cobra>04 GT>99 and 01 Cobra

I had an 03 cobra and the engine is a piece of crap, 2 drivers's side heads later, I agree with you buy a late model GT vert, with the cobras you end up replacing everything anyway, so why pay to upgrade twice !!!!!!! When my vert is done it will run with the 03 cobras and get a lot more looks !! It already gets more looks than my 03 cobra did !!

How about 01 Bullitt?

Still some money for mods, more hp out the box than the other Gts, and all the other goodies that come with the package.

BTW the macher is a lot more expensive on insurance......$200 more per 6mos.

I would originally say 99-04...but seeing as how I can't find a cheap one, I will say 98 Cobra, as I hope to look for one.

96-98 Cobra, hands down!

Love the look of the pre-99 SN-95's, the solid axle, and I don't car how quick they're getting the blown 2V 4.6's to move now a days, I'm sold on the DOHC exhaust note alone! Not to mention the exclusivity of owning a Cobra.

Yours is definitely an isolated and/or a minority case. The ’03 Cobra mills are a work of art! What exactly do you think you need to replace on an '03 Cobra engine? That makes zero sense!!! It's the GT where everything has to be replaced to upgrade to the Cobra specs, not the other way around.
