Picked up a new toy!!

Well I always wanted a lightning and when I found this one I had to buy it. Its an 01 with 17,000 on it. It has a 6# lower pulley, K&N with no silencer, bigger throttle body and a diablo sport tune. I am gonna tint the windows, get a cold air kit, some nittos and a real tune. Its a blast to drive and I cant wait to get it to the track! Here is a link to the pics they were too large to post.

I installed a JLP (Johnny Lightning Peformance) ram air kit on my buddies black 01 Lightning. It picked up 1.5psi. It wasn't an easy install. It took a few hours. It only had 600 miles at the time.

I like genII's alot but for some reason I like the genI's more. Either gen L might be the next truck I buy.

Congrats man, I do envy you. What kind of mpg do the genII's get?

I got the truck for 18,000. I have only put about 200 miles on it in a week and a half and when I last put gas in it I figured I got like 12-13 mpg. But that was of course a lot of spirited driving to see what the truck can do and get used to it. I figure it will get about 15 when I drive it normal if that is possible. Its not a very good but when you consider my F350 got 8mpg and I drove it like a granny that not too bad!

15 isnt bad for a truck like that. I was thinking they could see 18-20hwy (with a calm driver).

The sticker says 13 city and i think 15-16 hwy. I know it can do better than that.

still not bad for a supercharged brick truck thats not light. Looks sexy too, even if I am partial to the gen1's.
