Hey guys,

I’m planning on getting long tube headers, a custom made off-road x pipe, and a magnaflow cat back for my 100% stock 2003 GT. Should I should keep the cats. I live in MD and have emissions.

Not sure if I should buy an X-pipe or have the performance shop make one – they said it would perform and sound better because it will fit better. Any thoughts?

Will this sound good. I have been to mustang exhaust but it’s hard to hear clear.

I’m interested in the hookers because you don’t have to remove them to get to the tranny.

What is better for performance? Hooker, BBK, or others?

Where is the best place to buy these and how much? I have noticed some places don’t have long tubes. Product codes would be great.

Thanks

I bought the Hooker LT headers with ceramic coating. I also bought the matching o/r x-pipe. With this combination, I gained 23 rwhp. I've been very pleased with them. I still have the stock cat-back exhaust but the headers and x-pipe by themselves made the car a little louder.

I went with the Mac LT's and Mac o/r H. I have a few sound clips on my site, check them out. I went with the Mac's because they are the only ones that would fit around my auto tranny, if I had a 5 speed I would of went with BBK.

If you have an automatic, you can use Hooker, Kooks, and MAC. BBK appears to be the header of choice for those with manual transmissions. I chose Hooker for my automatic because of its reputation for quality.
