Don't take this wrong .. but it sounds like you let the car cool way down for the last run to make a number considering the mods you got.

most people with full exahust and cold air are runing in the high 280 low 290 range without a cool down

c and l cold air magnaflow cat back and a custome tune no pulleys. i make 290 on the nose ..

if i let it cool i make 299.9
but thats just a dyno number and not what you would make in the real world.

what correction factor and what kind of dyno .
 
What do you mean by cool down? We had fans on the engine but I think every dyno uses that. Basically if anything the car was real hot. I drove 45 min on the highway to get there and then we did 4 pulls in just under 2 hours. There was no time where the car was left sitting to purposly cool down.
I am new to this dyno stuff but I can tell you that it was a "Dynapack Chassis Dyno" and that it was 78 degrees when we dynoed the car. Not sure what a correction factor is but I have a printout here and it says that the "correction method" is "SAE." Is that what you were wondering?

There are several factors that need to be addressed when dynoing an 05 Mustang-

coolant temp, IAT (inlet air temperature), spark advance, among humidity, ambiant temperature, exc exc exc basically everything needs to be looked at through an OBDII diagnotic while dyning this vehcile in order to get true readings for fun or tuning-

By even letting the car cool down for an hour, it is actually possible to effect the IAT and coolant temperature which would result in the timing being advanced and higher numbers-

The 05 Mustang requires more sophisticated dyno techiniques then those that have been used in the past on the previous generation cars-
 
I really don't know squat about dyno stuff but the guy who did my tune and ran the dyno (Matt with Force Performance) was very professional and did great work. I trust that he did everything right.
 
4 puls in two hours is HUGE cool down time..

30 minits with a fan blowing on the engine is like siting still for a couple hours with the hood down.

yes thats considered cool down time.

make 4 runs back to back without lett!ing the car sit for more then 10 minits and see just how much power you lose i bet it would be in the 288-290 range.

I think hes just doing it for a goof,for his own piece of mind.do these new ones come with adjustable timing?fuel presure?
 
I am only curious how this style compares to a more traditional chassis dyno. The one used here bolts to the hubs(?) with the wheels off instead of the traditional style where the car w/ wheels and tires sits on drums.

I have seen people comment that the rwhp on one dyno is different from another, perhaps that is all that is going on here and the dynapack dyno gives a little higher number? Either way, great numbers!
