Is that emblem on the dash in the correct spot? Mine is about 5 inches more to the right. Possibly a retard on the assembly line?

I doubt it, b/c there are pins that push into the dash that hold it in...

Maybe just the older stangs had them in a different spot?...

or someone took it out of another car and installed it in that one. Mine don't have one but I took one out of a car that did but haven't put it in my car yet

The dash emblem came on the '90 models so that is an add on. It is also too far to the left but still looks okay. Car was painted at some point too it looks like but the person you got it from probably told you that. Looks nice, what are your plans?

My 89 hatchback had the emblem more on the right also... I didn't even notice that

It had touchups done but not an entire redo as far as paint is concerned. The car has about 105,000 miles and is 100% stock except for the off-road h-pipe.

My plans are very simple, there's an exhaust leak on the h-pipe (off-road, no cats). So I'm redoing the whole thing from headers to tailpipes. I'm also going to lower the suspension and put some new tires on there.

The engine is a little tired and will smoke oil when floored. But I found a newish engine with 30,000 miles that will go in there with my AFR165 heads, and whatever intake I can get my hands on (maybe Explorer GT40). I will also put some 3:55's or 3:73's on there. I had some 4:10's (was going to put them in the Cougar) but I sold them, 4:10 with a 5-speed is too much imo.

Oh and I installed my sound system yesterday with a 10" sub and whatnot.
