AH man you upgraded the wrong parts back there........I see horse power in the making but no drivetrain or suspension to support it.

I think you should raise the tank, maybe a spacer,, and try to stuff the pump in the back or front of the tank.

Everything is looking good. Hopefully this gets that engine up.

c'mon Brian, you know as well as i do, this thing will PROBABLY never see the strip so theres no need for the Cal tracs and 9" :rolleyes:

I dont forsee anything hitting it because the old tank would have signs of this and its no where inline of the tires tracks, but you never know

It's pretty vulnerable there, but I think it'll be fine. Chances are the car doesn't see alot of gravel roads nowadays.

What about metal fatigue on your brackets tho? Looks to me that that pump might "bounce" a bit when you hit larger bumps etc... this will esentially bend the metal back and forth each time until the metal has fatigued to the point where it breaks. Really hard to tell from a pic tho...

the aluminum straps are pretty stiff, but the sheet metal above the tank is very thin and it does flex a little, I added a support to now its supported pretty good.

Is that tank new, polished, or powdercoated? You can see the reflection of the fuel pump in the picture. Mine is a dull silver and was curious what your secret was. Oh, and is that sump pretty visible from the rear of the car? Could it have been turned to face the front of the car for more streamlined look or no? Lookin good though!

the idea od a sump is to keep fuel in at all time so theres no starvation, so facing it the oposite way defeats the purpose, plus this aint stock,dont sound stock and dont look stock:D

the tank came in the natural galvanized, but i cleaned it with laquer thinner and sprayed a few coats of clear on it:nice:
