I installed the typhoon lower today. I was a little nervous being that it was my first time doing this. I spoke to Vib on sunday and he gave me some tips on installing it, and I also followed the haynes manual. I put RTV on the front and back of the intake. I put enough so that there wouldnt be a leak. I also torqued the bolts to 17ft lbs, and in the tightening sequence. I think I did a good job, well see in a couple of days. Any tips you guys want to throw at me will be gladly accepted.

Lookin' good so far...

...but did you drive your car into bed or something? That's a lot of fender protection!

J/K, gotta keep the scratches at bay. Must be nice to have warmth to work in, what's the temps down there? I'd have to pull my rig into the garage here and throw on some serious heat.

Good luck.

Good work. Youre braver than me. Im still waiting for Vib to come by and help me (Im too nervous doing it myself ). Mainly because It is my ONLY driver and I cant afford to take it apart, put it back together and worry that I messed it up. Once Vib and Rog help me the first time, I should be able to do it on my own if needed.

GOOD JOB!

Looks good man.

Let me know how the thermostat housing lines up on the typhoon lower. It seems to be a little off on mine, so the top part of the thermo housing over hangs just a tiny tiny bit, and i could not get it to stop leaking. It just drip leaks, but very annoyinh. I changed the gasket a ton of times and no luck.

Supersync- I paid too much to have the paint get ruined. Bed sheets were all I had around.

Rob- When you see how easy it is, you`ll wonder why you didnt do it yourself before. Its just take patience.

Dan95- Thanks. I got the covers from Summit. They were cheap. They are made by TD Performance Products and they are OEM fit.

Yellow-ill let you know, hopefully I dont have to deal with that.

Who said 12/27?

You KNOW I got lunch covered

Jose, like I said, Im sure it is no biggie, but they key word in your statement is PATIENCE!

I dont have 4 weeks to let the car sit around.

Rog, There is still a trace amt of coolant soaking the gasket under the water neck. I just got another one for $25 with new gasket. THIS TIME, we need to put some RTV on the threads of the outlet tube for the bypass hose. It will be easy with the lower off. Also gotta connect the water heater hose and put on the VC's....each a 10-15 minute or so job!

Looking good man. Make sure you went over the lower intake bolts-to-heads about 4 times in sequence. Everytime you tighten them, they just keep getting loose again (basically because the gasket keeps compressing). Good luck with the front and back of lower. Not many people have luck using RTV with those. I just usually end up buying two sets of gaskets. The Felpro 1262 (intake ports are ported) and the stock gaskets from Autozone (MS93333). That way I can use the neoprene end seals for the front and back of the block. They just mold right in/on the lip. Good luck when you fire it up.
