Pics of Sub Box in a Notch

Anyone have any pictures of a sub box in a notch? I'm trying to design a box for 2 10"s that will slide in under the back deck so I can still use what little trunk space I have left. The problem I'm running into is that the trunk doesn't seem tall enough for even 10" woofers. The tallest box that I think will fit is 11-11.25", but the woofer is 10.375" tall on its own. Any pics of of your enclosures would be great!

Get a more shallow sub.

Plenty of people have fit a 12" in there. I did it in my 'vert too. Granted this wasn't tucked in the back but in the larger open area, but they still fit. You can fit some 10's or 8's into the back area though, I have a friend who has a 2x10 box tucked there in his 'vert - and we have less space in that space than the notches do.

Any pics of that? I measured everything and a box would fit back there if it weren't for those horizontal bars that connect to each of the trunk hinges. When the trunk swings open those bars swing up and forward into the space where the box would be. Are these what holds the trunk open? I still need to be able to use my trunk or else I'd have no problem with almost any size sub.

And sorry about the confusion....when i said the sub was 10.375" tall....I meant that to be the outside diameter of the sub. The sub is about 4.5" in depth.

I have a pic of mine but it's not what you're looking for at all. I don't have a pic of the other guy's.

There's a member here, bottlfed92, who makes gas strut arms that raise/hold the trunklid and free up space for storage purposes. Maybe you want to get in touch with him about those?

Pretty neat ... but that thing has gotta weigh like 100+ lbs., plus the weight of the subs, and it takes up almost the entire trunk (which is small to begin with). Nevertheless, the design idea is cool. Maybe if it didn't have the extra rearward part so that the subs would lay flat (aimed up instead of horizontal), and if one were to only be using two subs instead of three, it'd be more compact and still sound/work well...?

I've been thinking of doing something similar for my notch, but using a pair of 6x9's instead of subs (since I've got an extra set just laying around). Got several large panels of thick, solid particle board leftover from a big huge computer desk that would make great speaker enclosure material, and those pics have given me a couple of ideas...

yeah with notchs and verts you cant just get a store bought assembled box you are gonna have to use the stuff you were taught in woods class

Here's mine. The sub box and amp rack are wedge-shaped, and the angled covers you see are made out of thin MDF and wrapped in vinyl for a finished look. the capacitor stand and backing plate are just MDF covered in vinyl as well.

Back before I did this, I had a standard 14x14x10 (I think that was the size) box that I had my 12" sub in, and it fit in the trunk. I had to slide it into the trunk area at an angle to get it mostly in, then straighten it out and slide it into the center. It was a VERY tight fit but something similar with an inch or two of less depth would've worked much more easily. You can stay simple with the sub box but it most likely isn't going to look all too impressive. Depends on what ya want!

Here's a 'low light' pic of my setup.
I've got one 12" POLK/MOMO sub. And Dave's right. I was limited with space after putting in a false floor. Made next to no room after the sub was installed. So, I took the factory torsion bars and threw them out and replaced it with a TrunkLIFT system that I was forced to design.

mine's in a convertible, but it's the same concept. you have more room to work with though. there's no hydraulic pump behind your back seat or frame for the top
