Nice job. This is something I plan on doing but I figured I would just fiberglass it since I'm pretty good with that stuff. If done right, fiberglass can be strong, durable and will last.

Thanks Tony. I agree with you. Fiberglass will work fine as long as it's applied properly. I also think body filler works great when used as designed.

Wow! Nice job thus far! I am in the process of painting my LX notch. I am starting from the inside out though. Its a full resto/4 cyl swap, so i have the shell (no rearend, k member, doors, fenders, bumpers, lights, interior, glass) to paint. I figure do it now since i am changing the color of the car. I then plan to shoot the body panels as they go on. I have dreamed of a glossy engine compartment, and unfortunately stock ones always look dull and crappy
I will post some pics on this thread of my whole process so far. I sandblasted the whole frame and engine compartment....i highly reccomend this method. The primer seems to go on very evenly this way

P.S. The new color will be medium mettalic gray (lightings come in this color)

I had my antenna done 7 years ago when I painted the car,its amazing how much cleaner the front looks without it!! engine bay looks great bro...

I have heard of "in-tanna" rather than antenna. It's a product that mounts under the dash so you can get am/fm.

Im thinking about shaving my antenna also. My question is what do i do with the cable once its not on the fender. Can I just have it in side the car and still have the radio work?

I have that antenna. It works ok, but is very touchy. Move the wire one way and you loose reception, move it the other way and it gets better, etc.... It definitly could be better.

Damn can't get over how nice that engine bay looks......i shot mine last night with the single stage med. gray mettalic (in the engine compartment). Came out nice, but not that nice. I didn't want to fill all the stupid casting holes in with bondo, because i thought the would start rusting from the inside out and make a big mess of the paint, so i left them there. At least its all shiny and clean now. That was my biggest concern......

I shaved mine when it was repainted,also I removed and welded the pass side door key lock its really cool. I noticed most new cars dont have them.

Thanks for all the compliments guys, I really appreciate them. I have been putting in some long hours working on this car and it's great when it turns out nice.

I'll be puttin in a S-trimmed 302 with GT-40X heads, Anderson Cam etc..... Hopefully push it close to 500 HP!

I'll be putting the motor in soon. It is on the engine stand ready to go now. I'll get the pics up for evryone to see once it's done.
