pinging problem

After a snow, a weeks worth of waiting and a good scrubbing, I was able to get my car out. FINALLY!!!

what i heard was that it tends to ping a tad off accelerating from idle and under acceleration. My timing is set at 15-17 degrees BTDC, is this a tad too much? its almost like I don;t quite have enough octane, but 91 is as low as i go. also, this is after I installed the new cam, so would this make a difference?

the main question is, do i need to advance or retard ?

If your pinging with 91 and that much timing, you either need more octane or less timing. Take your pick
