You can use an eraser wheel, use a drill and go slowly, other wise you can melt the clear coat. After you do that buff out all the marks from it. Thats what I had to do alot when I worked at the body shop.
Hope this helps.

If it's tape....peel it off and use prepsol to get off the glue. If its painted use very fine compound.

I used a heat gun to get the ones off of my 94. They were not painted. I first tried using the low setting. I wasn't getting them hot enough. They would peel off a bit, but break off and come off in small bits. Then putting it on high and heating it a lot more, they would peel off as one strip.

Be careful with a heat gun, it will remove the paint if it gets too hot, I prefer using a eraser wheel. but thats just my opinion.

That was what I was also afraid of, and why I started with the low setting. Then my brother, who went to school for autobody, came over and told me to turn it up. I was scared at first for the same reason, but it worked and didn't damage my paint. The paint was HOT. I would have never got it that hot by myself if he'd not done it.

One of us would heat, and the other would pull up the stripe. Hot enough was when the stripe would pull off without breaking. Just tried to lead the stripe with heat slowly.
