Hello. Is anyone familiar with this equalizer? I want to know will it fit in the extra DIN slot we have at the bottom. Also, do I need some sort of kit/brackets to install this unit at the bottom opening or does it just install with what comes with the unit. I am about to order this EQ and I saw an option for a bracket kit that supposedly converts the opening to accept a DIN unit. Please enlighten me. Thanks for any help.

I don't think it will fit the din you have at the bottom at all unless you modify it to stick out a little. Maybe flush with the radio. I had a hard enough time fitting a half din with all the rca cables in that slot. But I am sure with some modification, you can get it to fit. Check out the measurements on the eq and compare with the space available. I just eventually ran a alpine head unit with a equilizer built in so I would not need a seperate eq. I had a 96 when I was trying all kinds of audio configurations.

On mine there's an amp just inside the opening - not sure about the 96 but assuming the same. Did you remove the amp to get more room in the back of the opening.

No, and that might give more room. I just remember that also that from the bottom of the console, it started going up at a angle. My RCA's coming from the back of the eq would always be hard pressed at the back and not so at the bottom.

Hey thanks for the feedback. I don't think I'll get it. I think I will go with the JVC EXAD KD SHX900 since it has a built in 7 band EQ. I was trying to keep my Sony tape deck and CD changer because I have a large collection of tapes - I've been out of the game for awhile. Oh well, I guess I will sell all of my old equipment and start new. Again thanks
