Going through the Drag rules I noticed I will need a helmet (I believe my car is quite capable of 13.99 but can I get her there and beyond is the question). I also noticed I need a driveshaft loop. So do all of you have these installed on your cars? Do they check for the DL?

If they do check then I'm screwed as far as dragging is concerned!

I thought you only had to have a D/S loop if you were running slicks? Or are you? I run slicks and have a D/S loop but they have never crawled under to check, but then i go alot and they kinda know me. It's worth a try to see tho. peace

the driveshaft loop is with "traction tires" meaning slicks or DOT drag racing tires such as ET-Streets or Drag Radials. It's also required on any car 11.49 or quicker.

It broke it down by times.

If you run 13.99 1/4 then you need- Helmet and a Driveshaft loop

The next break was 10.99 1/4 and I don't have to worry about it because my car won't get there!

It didn't mention anything about slicks...

Car hasn't been registered yet, I'm still running the dealer sticker and am planning on getting that done on Sat. Plus I still have the IA drivers license.

Will I run into any problems trying to run this on the track Friday?

You do not need a d/s loop, I have an 05 gt that runs better than 13.99 and have never needed one. You do need a helmet though. It looks like rain friday but clear on saturday.

Hey Brad, good to see you on here! I am going to try to make it there on Friday since it is the last Heads Up NW race of the year. I don't think I'll make it up on Saturday.

So since the weather is in the crapper right now how do we know if PIR will be open or closed?

Call them I guess but when do they make the call to cancel racing? I'm mean if it stops raining a 2PM will they be open for racing?

I know what you said and like i said i thought you only needed a D/S loop if you were runnig slicks. If they call it off from rain it depends? call 50-823-7223. I've gona at times when there was puddles in the parking lot and they still ran untill it started raining. From the looks of it tho i bet they didnt it rained all day at my work just a 1/4 mile away from the track. See ya tomorrow night if ya go? peace
