O.k. This is my first post in stangnet. I 've researched a lot, but I still need some guidance from the gurus. I have installed a new flaming river manual steering box on my 66. The problem now is the ptiman arm going back on the new box. The box is in place. I've centered the steering wheel from left to right and slid on the pitman arm. The arm is close to the steering linkage, so I am assuming the pitman arm is in the right orientation. The pitman arm won't tighten up to the box. I've tried heat (maybe not enough). What to do what to do...
Thanks in advance for you help.

I don't have the Flaming river box but I do have stock manual steering on my 65. The Pitman arm should be keyed and only go on one way. If I were sitting in the drivers seat it would hook left. Then you would put the lock washer and nut on and torque it to spec. I don't think it is necessarily meant to be tight to the box? Because when you want to take it off in the future, you will need to get the jaws of a puller in there to remove it.
