Plain Fiberglass hood

Aren't the stock no scoop aluminum hoods lighter than most aftermarket fibreglass hoods? I was at a show & shine last summer and there was a bit of a breeze blowing against the topside of our open hoods. It seemed that the hood struts struggled to hold the fibreglass hoods up (most needed improvised props) while the stock hoods with struts were mostly OK. Anyone know for sure?

I'd save the hood money and look for other means of reduction as the stock aluminum hood is light enough. Changing your suspension to better transfer the power will be more beneficial unless you start gutting your car completely. Have you swapped out the factory driveshaft for a one piece aluminum? That is probably worth a lot more than a hood swap alone could ever be!
