Will try something I've not tried before... Hopefully generating this number of alerts will work without issue. Don't really know what the limit is cuz I've not tried it. hehe

Did your dash cover ever come in? Just curious to see what it ended up looking like.
Thanks

It came in. I unboxed it and sat it in the car. It needs to be heated up and formed to the dash but that's about as far as I got. Maybe this weekend I'll play with it a little more @cdurbin

I saw this thread once elsewhere when searching for a different dashboard issue--I never tried it or anything but it looks like it came out ok.

Clue about fixing cracks in any kind of hard material like thin plastic or sheet metal. Stop drill the crack ends so that it stops the crack from continuing to spread. Use a 1/8" drill and be careful not to punch through and damage anything that's behind what you are drilling. This works well with metal aircraft skins, and should work well with just about any other hard, thin material.

Let me see what I have. Car has been in storage since I retired from the military.

You can see that I'd already replaced the dash cap.

Since this pic, the entire dash has gone black and the center console is two-toned (red/black). Even still, the red dash carpet remains. I didn't like the ALL RED interior but I do like the red color.

The finished product will be a mix that works.

On a side note: It's pretty much useless to try and buy a colored or color matched dash cap (if you ever choose to replace yours). They don't match very well. You're better off trying to die the cap to match the dash (this can be hard due to sun bleaching and age) or just dying the entire dash to match whatever color cap you purchase. The caps are dyed to OEM colors. If your car has not lived it's entire life in a garage (like 30,000 miles or less) well..... You can guess.

For some reason I thought you had an 87+? I actually like that look. I'm going to get one for my 86. Thanks for the pic Noobz
