as the title reads, I was spraying my car with Prestone's brake cleaner, so i thought. My Yellow Prestone's Brake Cleaner Bottle is the exact color and dimension of my Prestone's Silicone Lubricant..same bottle different writing. I wasnt paying attention and grabbed the silicone and lubed the hell out of my rotors and calipers but once i realized my mistake I sprayed both rotor/caliper with brake cleaner liberally. am i ok or do i need to do something else. thanks

silicone isn't that stong, i've seen it break down best with heat and vibrations but still you should tear it apart and scrap all the silicone off.

The brake cleaner should take care of it. Take it out on a clear road and jam the brakes a few times to make sure they grab and burn off and left-over silicone.

make sure you have plenty of stopping distance. I have done something similar. Mine smoked a lot at first but they were fine. the brake cleaner prob. took care of most of it.

You should be fine as long as you sprayed enough brake cleaner on it. Just go do a few "brake checks" with lots of room
