ATTENTION! Is it coming from the transmission or the bellhousing? I'm am amazed nobody has thought of a pilot bearing yet. A pilot bearing will make the most noise when you have the clutch disengaged. This is because the flywheel is spinning where as the input shaft is not, thus causing the bearing to spin. Push in the clutch, if you hear it, slowly release it until your friction point. If it goes away when you hit your friction point then the Pilot bearing is a good suspect. If you are certin the noise is coming from the gearbox, then i would tend to think it is input shaft bearings. Input bearings will make noise driving or idle, because they spin anytime the clutch is engaged. Output bearings will really only make noise while moving. Either way I can almost gaurentee it is a bearing of some sort. Try to diagnose the best you can with the information given, if you still can't find it, I'm afraid the only real way to find out is to rip the **** apart. Keep us posted:SNSign:
