Please help a fellow stanger out!

please help me out here, i know its kinda long but please give me a hand.

Im going to take my stang to a local mechanic who specializes in mustangs to get him to tune and get my car running nicely (idles a bit funny because of IAC).

Anyways do you think I should get a Adjustable Fuel Pressure Regulator at the same time and get him to install that? I think it might help my car a bit (I have heads (world's windsor jr iron), cam (e303), intake(cobra svo), throttle body(edlebrock 70mm), cold air, full exhaust, headers, short shift etc....)

What about adding a aftermarket MAF...what about larger injectors, do I even need larger injectors, im not going to add N20 or a S/C or any other major power upgrades...? Or do you think I should just do the ADJ Fuel Regulator?

Also on my throttle body do you think 70mm is too big? I have the adjustment screw closed almost all the way down, its only 1/2 a turn open...does this effect preformance?

What are your guy's thoughts? please help me out here!

How was your tuner going to tune it? A chip or something? Is he dyno tuning it or what? If no chip there is only certain things he can do, like timing and fuel pressure which you would need an AFPR.

Now if he's using a chip then as long as the fuel pressure is close to where it needs to be then he can adjust everything with the chip.

As far as your TB goes i would probably say that 70 may be a little too big.. If you have it already i would keep it though. And where you have your screw adjusted on it is about right. The further open it is the more your rpms will hang.

I would say upgrading your injectors would help but is probably not neccessary either.
 
yes, I think 70mm is too big, 65mm would be best.. but that's only hurting a few ponies down low... but I would get an AFPR (kirban are best, and still cheap) and up your psi to probably 43.. if you can spend the $70 goto a dyno and hook up the wide-band O2 and tune it that way with timing..

well i dont mean tune, hes gonna fix the TPS, get the timing at its optimal, set up the FPR, etc. Well the 70mm is allready on my car...so a MAF is a good idea as well as a adjustable FPR?

And I dont really need injectors, they wont give me any more power will they anyways?

WELL, if you're going to put more mods into the car, 24 pounders now would be a good idea as you can get a 24 pound setup MAF and be done with it.. vs. getting a MAF for 19 pounders and then having to worry about changing it later for 24's.. you can run 24's right now with about 38 psi and be fine I'm sure.. or get a tweecer and then you can change your maf to any injector size.. :)

but yeah, injectors won't give you more power, MAF should be good for 10 rear-wheel hp.. or more if your current MAF is dirty..

well, again, its not really hurting you that much, and if you're going to go with a setup that makes power upto 5800rpm or so, it'll actually help you out (and a better cam) so I'd keep it for "future use" and look at your fuel issues..
 
when you originally listed your setup in the post, you didn't say if you had pulleys... I'd snag a set of those before you did anything else, its only like 100 bones tops, and thats a quick 10-15 horse that you can put on with a wrench set. And I second Jet's thoughts on the 24 lbers.
