please help a new owner with his ragtop

I recently bought my first ragtop, and I have a question. I can't remove my back glass because the zipper is ruined. Can I still put the top down without wrecking anything, or do I need to wait untill I can take out my window? Any help would be appreciated.

im not sure if your supposed to put the top down with the window up, but i do all the time and noting happens. So im guessing its ok, just go slow???
