hey whats up, im new to stangnet, i have a 92 lx notch 5.0 that ive had for about 1.5 years, since ive had it it has a had a really bad and i mean bad vibration from 75mph on in any gear, whether accelerating or letting off, the vibration feels like its in the center of the car and the shifter vibrates really bad to, at about 90mph on you can bearly keep your hand on it. ive replaced u-joints and tranny yoke on the DS, and also had the DS retubed and balanced, ive also put in moser axels, strange LS, and all new seals and bearings, and new shock and struts, new 17" rims, and some lakewood trac bars/ lower control arms. nothin has solved the problem. has anyone had this type of problem or know what it may be please help!!!

any input is appreciated!! thanx!

Does it have gears? If so you need an aluminum drive shaft.

dang...looks like you pretty much threw everything at it that it could possibly be. what about balancing the tires. is it only speed related or is it rpm related? does it get worse the faster you go or does it eventually go away. its hard to tell what it could be since youve replaced everything that it possibly could be. unless something is totally out of balance in the tranny and causing the problem. maybe the tail shaft is slightly bent and it just gets really noticeable at high speed like that. or maybe the tail shaft bushing is bad and the tail shaft is wobbling

not necessarily true....if the driveshaft is balanced it should be fine. yes aluminum absorbs more vibration than the stock steel one...but it shouldnt be that bad

yeah its only speed related not rpm, the wheels & tires are balanced, and it does get worse the faster you go.

how would i be able to check the tailshaft bushing etc.?

HOW ABOUT A BAD TRANSMISSION OUTPUT SHAFT BEARING. TRY GRABBING YOUR DS YOKE AND SEE IF YOU GET EXCESSIVE UP AND DOWN OR SIDE TO SIDE MOVEMENT.

Here's a thought. Check your bump steer linkage in the front. Look for blown out bushing. Check the motor for twist by measuring it in the engine bay. A missaligned crossmember maybe another factor.
