I just posted this in talk by mistake///

below is a list of my mods, I have absolutely no traction, I need tires, I'm looking at the m/t street et's.. What is the best size for my car? I really don't have money for rims right now.. What is the biggest you can fit in a fox without tearing things up... I figure I can use the 26 10.5 15, but they may not work with my stock turbine rims... Also do you have to use the tubes? thank you guys,, tony

This is posted it seems every day that is why I think your getting no answers. It is debated here a lot IMO you can use 245,250,255 around there (mm tread width) it is possible to go bigger but you may run into problems with rubbing, quads etc. My car has wider but I don't recommend it, because others say that to me. As for tubes most are tubeless, but I see no harm in having the extra protection of a tube. I don't think it is needed though.

I'm looking at the hoosiers 27 10.5 15
or the m/t 26 inch
I did a search but everyone is either using a different rim, or looking for drag radials, etc.. didn't find much....
I'll probably go with the small 26 inch m/t's

26" is the total tire top to bottom no? so your talkin 10-11" wide yes and what about the sidewall width (rim to edge of tire) 40 or 50 or 60 this is a % of the treadwidth of the tire (makes tires low profile type) 40-45 is low profile 60 shows alot of tire. The small tires show a lot of fender space unless your car is lowered, but if your car had 50-55 it would look normal.

it's not lowered, but is a conv, so it's naturally lower in the rear, sorry i meant 26 10.5 15 street et.s, I think I'm just gonna wing it, I just don'e know if I have to run tubes, these are going to be full time tires, not just track tires, I barely drive my car, so it's not much of a concern....

Put a set of BFG 275-50-15 Drag Radials on the tubines and you will be much happier. The stick like glue, are legal, and will hold air with no problems tubeless. Got them on my 82, one of the best things I ever did. Fit fine on 10 holes or turbines.

That is what is on my car but I was told on 7" 10 holes the wide tire and smaller rim cause the tire to bulge which they say is not good. They fit fine, look good and I like them but thats what I heard.

I'm not crazy about drag radials, not sticky enough. everyone I know that has had them likes the m/t et streets much better,,,, thank you though

you want to use et streets on the street? if you'l NEVER see rain, it might be ok, otherwise you need something with a tread. that is an awefully wide tire for such a narrow rim. i would personally do the widest drag radial that will safely fit and save up for a track wheel/tire combo.

The 26x10.5 ET Street will work on the stock rims, but a wider rim would be better. Or you could run a 26x8 slick.

I know people are confused about this.....they always are. I will clarify this one more time. A 26x10.5-15 ET STREET is the SAME SIZE as a 26x8-15 ET DRAG.
