My next bigger mod after the springs and struts which I'm doing currently, should be an exhaust upgrade.
Like you can see in my mods section, I already have a Flowmaster American Thunder catback, which I'd like to keep, because I'm happy with it.

o The car has to stay emission-legal, so I need a set of good cats.
o I like the sound of the H-pipes, so these are preferred over the X, as long they add power
o The headers should be good flowing unequal-length shorties

The only - and I mean the very only - manufacturer making catted H-pipes for my car I found was MAC. Has somebody experience with them? Does somebody know another manufacturer which makes catted H-pipes for 99+ GTs?

Thanks for opinions!

I don't know anything about MAC exhaust but I have had some issues with their quality on some of their other products. If you do a search you will find that I'm not the only one. You might want to check out MRT they make a H pipe that fits your car. As far as the headers you might want to do a search on here beause most of the guys here are using LT headers because they make more power than the short or unequal-length. Just trying to help your wallet but like I said don't take my word do a search.

The H pipe is what you'll want with the Flowmaster (chambered) mufflers. But why do you want unequal length shorties? To stay emissions-legal, you'll likely have to stay with shorties, but why unequal length? Good flowing and unequal length usually aren't in the same sentence.
MRT makes a catted H for the 96-04 with OEM exhaust manifolds or shorties - ck out this link: http://www.ninosport.com/store/Mustang/item_MRT.htm
Best of luck!

whatever header you choose, get ceramic coating. My mac lt's rusted bad after a year without it.

Okay, MRT seems to be cool. A bit pricey but good quality and fitment. Thanks for the link!

But I disagree with your opinion on the headers. At this size (engine size and shorty headers) the equal-length design is absolutely not worth the price and the effort of install. In fact: the added bends keeps the exhaust gases from flowing faster. The equal-length shorty headers are just a big hype. Ask some exhaust-pro are take a look into literature, like "Mustang Performance Handbook" (W.R. Mathis / HPBooks).
