please help!! replaced clutch, pedal is really sticky????

The clutch pedal feels like the Clutch cable is rusty or something. When you push it in it creaks and when you let out it comes back fast but not smooth. the clutch cable is almost new and was used before the clutch itself was replaced. Is there anything I can lube or what?? Thanks for any help.

Just had this problem and just recently fixed it. Is you cable stock or aftermarket? I had an adjustable cable from summit on my car for approx 3 years. Did a clutch job 1.5 yrs ago and the cable started getting very stiff about 7 months ago? Put the factory one back in and no problems. What brand cable is it? Have you lubricated this cable before. I've heard not to. It collects dirts and operation becomes very sticky. Maybe you could try "cleaning" it by spraying it with some WD 40. It would at least give you an idea of whats causing the problem. I'm sure it's the cable though.

It is an adjustable bbk clutch cable. It's almost new. To be honest I'm not really sure how to adjust it correctly, but I think it's close.
