Please Help With Clutch

Ok so I have done the reading , and I have still come up with the same ending my clutch engages and disengages when the pedal damn near on the floor board I have a stage 2 xtd clutch a ford racing quadrant and an adjustable cable I have loosened the cable and tightened it all the way and in between the only difference it makes is it wont disengage if I have tightened or loosened it too much. it has resistants in the clutch it feels fine . where should I go from here ? do I really need to get a firewall adjuster ? oh and its a t45 tremec

Makes sense that if you tighten it too much it won't disengage, but you say that if you loosen it too much it also won't disengage? Did the problem just start, or have you had issues since the cable/quadrant install and was the clutch done at the same time? I personally don't like the adjustable cables. I've had two stretch and need replacing before I went with the maximum motorsport kit (cable, f/w adjuster, and quadrant). Expensive, but no problems and have never looked back.

I did it all the same time and it would dis engage pretty far down but its gotten worse maybe the new cable already stretched ? idk tho since there isn't slack and I have some room to adjust

I also have long tubes so maybe the heat got to it already ?

and yes if I loosen it too much it will do the same sorry I didn't see that was a question I have it perfectly adjusted so it will even work

I had it backwards in my other post, if you have it at a point where it will disengage and it's at the bottom, when loosened it won't disengage, when tightened out should disengage higher. Makes me wonder if everything is installed properly.

If you go underneath and look in the dust cover, the fork should be in a position so the tob is right off of the clutch fingers. That's where the cable should be adjusted so it sits. Have somebody press the clutch while you watch. As they start pressing, you should see it pull the fork and the tob will start pushing in the fingers.

hmm I was thinking when I get off from work that maybe I should lift the car again and check to see if the second bolt on the cable is still there

Having the same trouble with my sons car. How old is the clutch?

its new but I figured out what it is I should have replaced the clutch fork also because the fingers that hold the TOB are a little shotty so it was pushing the tob at a slight angle and not getting a full "press" if you see what imsaying so I tinkered with it and held it in place then tightened the cable to the fork ..all good now shes nice and smooth

Get a button clutch and you will never look back... it's what I have and love it but it takes time getting it down for street and Daily driver.

I have a stage two clutch isn't a "button" referring to the material ?

Kinda, what I call a button it's a smaller high torque clutch with no slip. My peddle is so light it's like there isn't anything there. It's even engaged or not there isn't much play at all in it.

not sure if I would like that I would go thru that clutch pretty quick lol im a good driver but I know what I can and cannot do lol

It's easy once you learn how it works just suck taking off on hills I use the e brake to old the car so I can get the rpm's up to take off with out stalling
