I recently was having problems with my 91 lx that has a 347 stroker on it. Whenever i was releasing the clutch a pop sound was coming out of what we thought was the rear end. After further investigation i realized that the problem was more serious so i quit driving it. After consulting with a family friend their thoughts were that it was the transmission seeing as i was running a stock t-5. well to put a long story short he got the smart idea to drive it and we found him half a mile down the road on the side of the road with a huge puddle of transmission fluid. Not only did he completely trash the transmission but he also bent my drive shaft and shattered my rear end. I am now in a serious perdicament seeing as i was going to fix the car so i could sell it. But now seeing as i have to replace all of these parts im going to keep it. I wanted to get some good advice on what parts to order to where i'm not completely breaking my wallet but i also want the parts to be very durable. If you could please help me i would greatly appreciate it. Thanks 91LXSPEED

he got the smart idea to drive it? I'm afraid you got the smart idea to LET him drive it, when you knew it shouldn't be driven?

I do not see how in one swoop, a transmission, driveshaft, AND rearend could all be destroyed. But, if that is the case, your best bet is to find a donor car in a junkyard or something to swap in a used but good T-5, driveshaft, and rearend if you don't want to break the bank.

Yeah i dont see how thats possible to destroy all that at once. anyhow, i dont know what parts youll need to order, but i wouldnt ordr anothe t-5 depending on what kinda hp u have but with a 347 stroker its probably time to step up to a tko trans if your gonna keep the car. if your gonna sell it, then just pull the trans and have it rebuilt, which shouldnt cost you much. then if u bent the d/s, u can prolly pick up a used steel one of some of the stang forums for next to nothing, lastly, i guess youll need a new rearend gears if they are trashed. thats something youll have to have installed by a shop. all in all your probably looking at around a thousand bucks for everything if you pull the trans yourself

yea man i really don't kno how it happened but i kno that the gears were destroyed when we had to drag it onto the wrecker when the rear end totally locked up. Have yall heard anything about those aluminium ford racing drive shafts. i was also thinkin of running a tremec tko 500 and another set of 3:55 gears.

The worst part bout all this is the guy is a die hard chevy fan so he's not gonna help me fix the car. But the motor has the e303 cam, msd ignition, gt-40 heads that are ported and polished, taylor racing wires, bbk longtube headers, and a bunch of other stuff i don't feel like listin.
