Totally and completely normal. That's the nature of disc rotors. If it bothers you just drive to the end of the block and back and they'll be nice and shiny.
Yes. Although, because my rims are black, the rust really shows when I wash my car (the rust dust that is).. So, after washing, I brake to remove the dust, then clean the rims.. I usually use glass cleaner or quick detailer..
It seems as if the rotors are closer to the face of the rims on the new Mustangs. IIRC, they weren't quite as obvious on the '04 Mustang.
**If you are that concerned, cover the rotors with plastic before washing.. might work..
I got it!!! Just spray them down with WD-40! It disperses water and prevents rust! Won't stop for s**t but your rotors will look good in the wrecking yard.
Haha, we're not SOL, that's just the way it is for all disc brakes unless they're made out of another material like carbon ceramic. It doesn't hurt your brakes at all.
Get aftermarket ones that are either cadmium or zinc plated should stop the center and the edges from rusting but the braking surface will still rust if you let them sit still. Though not as quickly from what I recall.
