Hey, i'm a first time mustang buyer. Right now im looking at a 94gt with 83k on the body. It has a Jasper 5.0 engine with a transferrable warranty. What about this engine? Will it respond ok to mods? The air conditioning and the cruise control dont work. THe jasper engine only has 4 k on it and I have spoken to the people who installed it and they said it went good and that Jasper makes a good product. He is asking 4700 for it with two 12" subs and a deck. The car also has flowmaster exhaust, the tips are rusted all the way through but under the rest of the car looked descent for a 94. Is this a good deal? Can i trust the jasper engine? If anyone knows anything about em it'd be great for some help.. Im very interested in Mustangs and am looking for a semi- fast reliable car. My aim sn is andyoismynameo so please reach me on there or just reply on this forum.. Thanks everyone

subscribing to about the jasper engines, but i think they are fine, jasper has been in business for something like 60 years, and their warranties cover parts + labor, if they made crappy stuff i don't think they'd still be in business with all the money they'd be spending replacing parts + covering labor. But i would also like to hear some other input.

Ok everyone, just talked to the guy on AIM. Car sounds pretty solid, and I gave him some stuff to look at, but if anyone else could give some ideas what to look for. I covered a lot of the basics, it drives straight, smooth, and gets up pretty good, too. It's an auto, btw. It sounds like a pretty good deal, so let's hear some more ideas/suggestions. I got the typical "kick the tires" stuff covered already.

well you asked for reliable...what do you mean? Is this your ONLY car? If something breaks do you still have a ride to work/school? If so maybe you want something newer...its 11 years old, stuff will break

Jasper engines are good enough for a truck but not for a mustang. It's reliable but not performance oriented.
A friend of mine bought one to install in a customers car and pistons were in the hole much more than a HO.
Can't remember exactly but not very good, and also you could tell the pistons valve releifs were huge, like generic.

For the price I would jump on it if the rest of the car is solid. Then make it what you want...
