Please Tell me i am running rich

Today i stomped it and there was a cloud of blue/black smoke :( please tell me that i am running rich and not burning oil. I dont have any blowby which is normally associated with bad rings, anyone have any ideas or opinions?

I had similar problems and changed to a adjustable FPR and dropped the pressure from around 40psi stock one (tried the gauge before installing the adjustable) to 37-38 and seemed to really help with that and MPG. But if it's blue then that pretty much oil period. Could be valve guides, rings, over filled oiol, ect.....

Stomp the gas and blue=rings
stomp the gas and black=rich
stomp the gas and let off then smokes when off the gas=valve seals
stomp the gas and black/blue....=rich and blowby together.
Smoke doesn't mean it's time to give up on her, treat her right and she will keep on going for long time to come. My old mill had 200,000 miles on her with fresh oil every 2-3000 miles and ran like a raped ape right up untill she was removed. Only reason I pulled her was cause the new mill was about ready to go in and the bay had to be cleaned up. Anyway she burned a quart every 300-500 miles and ran like stink so don't worry about it.

ok well i pulled out of my cousins driveway and guess what, there is an oil spot ther and it is fresh, I still dont understand why it only smokes when the 4 barrels are kicked in? OK if i rebuild the motor i want to but a stroker in it, well will hypertechs be better then forged for a daily driver, no Nitrous or SC or should i save up for the Forged kit?

Sometimes you could be running very rich, and dumping so much fuel in the cylinders it liquifies any oils in the cylinder, breaks a good seal in the oil rings and you'll have 2 things; combusting oil and fuel in your crankcase. Then if it's pissing tons of fuel, it could be going to the crankcase and eating up your seals, causing leaks.
