Everytime I fix one problem i seem to get a new one...

When I did my PI swap I noticed that one of my bolts would never get tight.

It appears that several of my bolts will keep spinning and never tighten. I made sure not to overtighten them but they never really got tight at all.

I think the little brass things in the intake are spinning with the bolt so now I can't tighten the bolts or get them out to remove the plenum!!

Has this happened to anyone else??

Any reccomendations??

Thanks guys

All I can suggest is cut the heads off with a dremmel if you can.
Lock the brass incerts in place with thin superglue remove the remainder of the bolts and then reinstall and hope for the best.

I have seen many people post about stripping various bolts in the intake manifold so yeah it is kinda common. A lot of times the COP bolt will get stripped when reinstalling the COP.

I use a thin layer of antiseize where apropriate, clean up threads with wire wheel before re-using bolts, and try to torque to correct specs.

Thanks for the suggestions guys.. my plans are to "try" and cut off the heads, remove the studs and install new brass pieces with a strong adhesive. I figure swapping to studs will help too. Might take a little while but I'll post back with results and shoot me any more suggestions.

Thanks

Ok guys... I got the plenum off with a little work and 4 out of 5 of the helicoils came out off the holes in the process. They just spun out with the bolts!

I still plan on using studs instead of bolts but does anyone have suggestions on putting the helicoils back in??

The holes go pretty deep and I'm afraid since the inside of the plastic holes are already stripped they will fall down.

Thanks
