PLS help me ID this mustang

 you have there a 71 stang.. the Q in the vin means 351 cleveland cobra jet.. meaning a very rare mustang.. get it and treasure it.. thats if the motors still there.. as well as the factory heads.. if not.. dont screw with it

well its rare because that motor was offered very little of the time in production.. its good motor to build a HOSSSSS lol weird tranny that moves only forward? is it a toploader? if it is.. reverse is all the way to the left and up..1/2 is the center slot

the 351c 4v is MUCH better then a windsor in every way shape and form, the make monster power for little $$. Good luck :nice:
Absolutely! In stock form they outrun the windsor, too bad their is sucha small aftermarket for them though. How about some more pics!!!!

It's my pops. As far as the mileage, He says it's original. All I know is I never saw it drive in my life. It's been in his barn for 20 years and parked at his other house for 10.
He always told me it's rare but by looking at it I couldn't tell.
I'll get more pix tomorrow.
Engine pic. Notice the original old skool Mickey Thompson valve covers :D

that looks like a 289 or a 302 to me. doesnt seem nearly wide enough for a 351. plus the dist. just dont look right. oh well probably my eyes just playing tricks on me. if that is the original motor, box those heads up and send them my way. then ill send you my e7's which are way better!!!

Cleaning the drool from the keyboard  (at least I think it's drool. That car IS REALLY sweet though). If it is a Cobra Jet, which it appears to be, you are sitting on a veritable gold mine. Congrats. Now clean it up, paint it back to OEM and enjoy yourself. Fun Fun rides, those are.

True that! I looked it up and there were only 388 q code mustangs that year. Only 90 were a coupe. Even fewer (can't find any record) were Grande's. I've been trying to get this thing out of the barn for the last 10 years or so. It's a damn shame and I be the first to say it to just let a car sit for 30 years. Everything is corroded, rusted, and faded. Why did it set for soooo long? Broken axels....
Pop's is 70 now and I don't know why he is even messing with it but I think me building mine got the fire going again.
We got a gallon of Cam 2 so were gonna see if this baby will run!
Gives me goose bumps, but I am certified Mustang nut :nice:
