I've used different types of plug wire dividers and never really had a favorite. At the present time, I'm using a set of MSD 8.5mm wires and stock type routing, against the valve covers, with a couple extra 4-wire holders so the wires stay straight and divided. It looks ok I think. It's easy to work on because everything is out of the way.

I'm wondering what others have used as far as plug wire routing and different type of dividers that they like and works well. Pics would be a huge bonus, along with a description of wires, etc.

I'll try and get some pics of mine and post them later for comparison's sake.

Adam, Performance Distributors makes a sweet billet alum set for use with their Live Wires. I am thinking about buying a set from them or making my own. http://www.performancedistributors.com/livewire.htm

I always liked the mounts that you can get for the older cars that run the wires along the valve covers.

Actually, I like the ones that run along the valve covers myself -- I was hoping to see some pics and see how they look on a late model car.

I'll look inot the PD ones, I'm not farmiliar with them.

Is it bad to have the wires touching eachother or do you guys just do it for looks?

Just like I believe you were describing. I was tempted to go for the ones that encase the entire wire behind it, and are about 7" long. Some varieties can be attached to the valve cover bolts or in that area, and some are free-standing. I decided I didn't really care for that look much, as they look bad upon coming out of the holder and into the dist. At least IMO, and for the money it was a big deal

Here's what I have right now. Like I said, very functional, and definitely the right price, but not the best looking. I don't think it's bad looking, but it's not great either. So I'm looking for ideas.

Here's a couple pics: (Take it easy on the engine bay comments. )

What's the purpose for that thing that attaches to all the plug boots on top of the distributor?

I suppose it's really like the GM style cap that holds the plug wires onto the cap tightly, but in my case it came with the cap and I liked the way it looks, so I popped it on.

I don't know if it's still an issue with modern day plug wires, but it used to be a good idea to have them cross as little as possible and be as seperate as possible.

It's probably mostly for looks now, but I don't think it can hurt. It also keeps things organized which is also a big plus in my book.

I've got a billet aluminum bracket that runs down each valve cover to route the wires. Looks really nice But my engine bay is gutted, and I run a carb. So that type of system might not work for you EFI guys.

I bought the Taylor wires and Taylor bolt style seperators, did a great job. Only two wires touch each other once at one point.

Maybe I should pull mine out of the looms on the valve covers -- I wonder if it would look better in free-hanging looms like most of you guys have. ???

On a supercharged car you want to keep 5 away from 6 or it could jump spark and cause issues.
