plug wire resistance

Ford Racing style wires use a fiberglass core coated with carbon. The resuistance is about 2000 ohms per foot of length.

Taylor style wires use a spriral wound wire and run about 20-50 ohms per foot of length.

My Taylor Thundervolts are 50 OHM per foot, but if you want them in a 10.4" wire, you can only get them in black. The additional thickness is only another layer of silicone anyway, to help protect the wire from damage and heat. It won't effect the wires performance any though.

only in black?

the reason i ask is because summit says the Taylor 409 Race-Fit Pro Race Spark Plug Wires come in blue?

The 409's are deemed a race only wire. When I asked the Taylor rep about them, he told me they weren't really suited to any vehicle a person was concerned about supressing electrical interference. (IE stereo hiss, whine, etc).

The Thundervolt 50's are the more street oriented of the two.

Livewire also makes a really nice 10.5" wire....and I believe they come in blue, black, red and yellow.
