Plugs too hot??

Hey y'all, I just did my blower install a couple days ago, and I think I might've gotten too hot a plug. I'm running what's in the sig, GT-40 iron heads. I was running Autolite 3924's from the start, and they seemed like they were a little too warm. After about 10k, you can smell that it's running rich, but the plugs are bleach white. So, before I threw on the S-trim, I bought some Autolite 104's based on what the guys at the local parts store referenced from a couple catalogs and gapped them at 0.035".

I pulled a couple plugs this afternoon and again, you can smell the rich mixture, but again bleach white plugs. Now, I'm new to forced induction, and I have yet to firewall it since the install due to cruddy weather around here...I just don't want to burn anything up.

Any suggestions as to which plugs might benefit me? Any help is greatly appreciated...

Try running Autolite 3923's. They are 1 plug colder than your 24's. The gap at .035 is fine. When you say bleach white plugs, are you referring to the ceramic insulator? A rich running plug would have dry tips that are matt black or sooty or could be wet and look glossy black. Normal running plugs would have light brown, tan or gray tips with a clean white insulator. Enjoy the new power.

Yeah, I'm talking about the insulator being bleach white...and I know that running rich will typically leave soot behind on the plug, but if the plug is too hot it'll usually burn off alot of residue. I'm sure I still need to fatten up the mix a little, but man, it'll gag you if you sit still for too long, so I know it's not too lean! lol

Anyway, I'll give it a shot, but from what the guy at the parts store showed me in the champion catalog, the part number crossed to the 104's he gave me as being 1 stage colder. I might just call vortech and see what they recommend too...
