we finnaly got my buddies 98 Gt w/ the 96 cobra motor in it running :nice:
now the fan isnt coming on and im not sure if its getting up to temp to turn on, but i dont want to over heat it since its all alum., i dont really trust the stock gauges since when the engine is cold the needle is pointing to the N on normal instead of the C all the way to the left
so i told him to order an aftermarket temp gauge and he did, along w/ oil pressure and air/fuel mixture (all electrical)
if anyone has experiance hooking these up some pointers would be nice like what wires to use and where to find them

also if we have to straight wire the fan to the key what do each of the 3 wires do going into the fan?

Thanks

The A/F mixture gauge is a waste of money.. it's just a light show. The only one worth it is the wide-band type.

The oil pressure gauge, just find the stock oil pressure sender and run a t-fitting or an elbow fitting if it has an auxillary plug somewhere near it. Same with the water temp.. just elbow or tee off the original sender. I don't know that motor so I can't tell you the exact locations offhand. Try searching through the forums or google and you may find something.

I guess I would be tracing down the fan wiring first before I order gauges, but that's just me.

And for the wiring of the gauges, buy those fuse tap things from autozone, that way you just run off the factory fuses and don't splice in to any wiring (unless you prefer to, in which case just pick whatever ignition-on power wire you can find.) The light wire you'll also have to search for in the forums or google.
