Just thought I'd post some pics of my work. First time I ever polished anything, or painted an interior for that matter... seems to have come out pretty good. Could use a little more polishing, but way better than that stock look. I'll probably end up selling it soon to get an explorer intake -- maybe I'll polish that too. Anyway, I thought I'd put it out there and see if I could get some opinions... or maybe suggestions on what to do next.

thanks

That interior is really glossy. Did you clear coat it or something? What did you use for paint?

Anyways, how about hiding the wires in the engine bay, looks very cluttered. and that steering wheel doesn't match the interior at all.

The intake looks pretty good. But I agree, give that engine bay a little TLC and it will look 10x better

lol... yeah I guess I could've used a little less RTV. I'm thinking the valve covers will be next to be polished though. I'd like to hide alot of those wires, but I don't want to have to snip or lengthen them to make them reach.

As far as the paint, I used some of that krylon plastic paint, worked pretty good. I sprayed a couple layers of clear over the dash as well. I didn't clear the armrest and I'm starting to regret it as my elbow is wearing the paint down already -- I'll have to redo that and the center console since it wasn't cleared either. I agree about the steering wheel though, it's gotta go.

As far as the painted dash goes, I glued an emblem to the center of my dash a while back and it pulled all the paint off with it when I removed it (word to the wise.. never use acryllic glue). So I had to repaint or live with the ugliness. I was gonna use the stock colors but I couldn't find anything that matched well so I went with gloss black. Only downside is now I'll have to get some black leather seats to match, not to mention the carpet... lol.

I think I have a problem here.

You don't have to.

http://mansonozz.corral.net - look at "tech" for wire hiding info & pics.
