I loved the look of my old chrome roll bar but since it wasn't NHRA legal I had to get a 6pt chrome-moly bar installed. I didn't want to paint it black so I set out to find a way to achieve a similar finish to my new bar. I scotcc brighted it, then wet sanded with 500grit, 1500 grit, brown rouge, white rouge, and finally Mother's aluminum polish with a high speed drill. I then had to find a way to keep it from rusting and after a lot of searching I settled on POR 15's Glisten PC clear coat. It offers UV protection and it totally seals the metal to prevent it from rusting. Anyway, I have some wet sanding and buffing to do for me to be completely happy with the finish but all in all I'm happy. Here's some pics:
