So I've been sanding on this intake forever now. On one side .... I had everything sanded smooth and shiney. But there are two grayish-black specs in the aluminum that WILL NOT sand out. I have those two areas sanded about 1/4" lower than the rest of that side and the specs are still showing.

What would cause this? It's really pissing me off because I'm already gonna have to go back and level that whole side out. Soon, I'm gonna run out of material to sand!

I have not moved on to tripoli yet. I have alot more sanding to do before I go there. I'm only down to 150 grit as of now.

So do you think that the "imperfection" will leave once I get the tripoli & rouge applied?

We had a few little issues like that when we did the one on the Cobra. But the bf was using a Dremel tool, and eventually he got it down to where they were gone...

Good luck; I know this isn't exactly a 5-minute job! lol
