well, the best way to polish aluminum is to sand with 80 grit to remove any deep scratches, then 120, 180, 220, 280, 300, 400 and then load a buffing wheel up with black buffing compound, and then color buff it..........i did a few peices for a friend when i worked at a buffing/polishing plant.....man it looked better than chrome......i'll never do it another way
