So, I'm getting my car back from the tranny shop on Mon.
I've been told by Andre Edge that he likes a 500 mile break-in, followed w/ new fluid and filter. He also said at lest 200 easy miles to seat clutches and steels.
The tranny shop said you don't need a f&f change after 500 since everything is soaked beforehand.
Assorted others have given several different opinons.
SO, what does everybody else think? AOD mods are in the sig, with the addition if a stamped steel direct drive drum.
Thanks,
J

Thats all new parts,right?
If so,I would change the f&f,because there is a possablity of metal fragments from the valve body, etc. geting in the fluid. The shops right, you dont HAVE to change the fluid as all the parts should have been cleaned and soaked before they went in,but its really for added piece of mind and doesnt hurt to do so.

:bang: :bang: :bang:
Just spoke to the shop, and they said they took it for a first road test, and he said it wouldn't shift 1-2 until 5000 (not WOT), and it shifts 2-3 too quickly, so he said he's gonna pull it again and see about adjusting the TV cable and if there's anything amiss w/ the shift kit.
Any ideas as to what the problems I might recommend they look for?
Thanks,
J

The latest:
I talked to the guy @ 3:30, and he said after some adjustments, he lost 3rd gear, or it wouldn't go into 3rd gear or something like that. He said he had to drop the valvebody and go through the shift kit step by step to try ad find the problem...
This blows.
Car won't be done till sometime tomorrow IF nothing else goes wrong....
Trust me, it will.

Apparently, my car is ready, but this is second-hand, "as far as he knows", as the guy who did the work was at the chiropractors and then picking up some TC's when I called, but the other guy said "I think it's done"...
hmm...
Now I have to wait for a ride and go see if my s!!t is FINALLY ready.... :nonono:
