Well i finally got some new wheels for the stang, i picked up some used ponys that are in really good shape so i am gonna use them. I am planning on running the stock 225/55/16 unless someone can give me a valid reason to run something different. I am looking at these kumhos and was wondering what people think of these. They arent all that expensive, i can get them installed for 95 a tire @ discount tire. I want something thats gonna track well and provide traction for the upcoming turbo, but i also need something that will work in the winter time. I live in central illinois and we get snow so the tire has to be able to handle daily driver duties in snow. Anyone have any suggestions, Any expireince with these tires? any expirience with a better tire?

Well, I run that same tire on the back of the SVO (because they were free) and I can't say how they do in the snow but I can say the rubber compound is super hard...not great for traction but nearly impossible to wear them out...I've done TONS of long burnouts and I can't tell a difference in tread depth.

Im almost positive that a 235 will fit and it is of course slightly wider.

I guess it is personal preference, but in my eyes, the wider the tire the better.

The 225/55 is the stock size and on a 7" rim, there is really no need to go wider. However, 245/50s look way better, imo . But you won't really gain anything performance-wise with the wider tire.

I have 245/50s on my back 2 ponys and they look real good but I have the old stock rims still on the front because the 245/50s rub so bad on the front. I think I might get some 215/50s for the front because I might can get them for free.

My worry was that they would rub on the front. I am thinking that I'd like maybe 245's on the back and 225's on the front. 225's should be ok as far as rubbing goes.

I am certian i am going to go with the stock 225 55 16 for both front and back, i want to be able to rotate the tires. I dont really want my speedo reading wrong either so i am staying with the stock size.
Stinger you said the tires dont have very good traction... thats not good. this is on a daily driver so long treadlife is nice but i at least want traction as good as the BFG's i am replacing. Does anyone have any other tire suggestions that you have liked? i cant buy tires till i get paid so i have a week or 2 to figure out what i want.
