I'm upgrading my 08 Shaker 500 HU to a Kenwood DDX512 HU. I got the wiring harness adapter for the Shaker 500 and everything hooked up to the Kenwood wiring harness fine...except for a couple wires.
I'm assuming something I did wasn't right and that's why I get the pop through the speakers when power is turned on.
The Ford wiring harness has:
- OR/BK - negative dimmer (I attached this to the negative (BK) wires as the Kenwood harness didn't have this.) The dimmer doesn't seem to work.
- 2 BL/WH - positive amp power (I attached both to the 1 BL/WH that is on the Kenwood harness). Works
The Kenwood wiring harness has:
- LTGN - Parking sensor (I attached this to the negative (BK) wires as I wanted this to always be "on". If I understand the circuit correctly the parking brake circuit is always "open" and is only "closed" when the brake is applied. Is this correct?)
So is one of those 3 wire connections wrong causing my "pop" or do I need to look elsewhere? The amp's for the subs work and all seems well just the dimmer don't work and I have a "pop".
