What could cause my tranny to pop out of first? All the other gears are strong. It actually seems like my clutch but my clutch is pretty new. Half way on the clutch pedal it just spits back at me. Should I adjust my linkage?

I just got the tranny in after a complete rebuild and everything was good. So I really don't think it's internal.

Could a throwout bearing do it? I have a adjustable clutch quaderent and the pedal is really tight. Could it be to tight?

Anybody ever have a promblem like this before?

Please help I'm really getting worried here. Thank you.

Your hurst short throw shifter isnt adjusted correctly. You need to remove to shifter boot and give you upshift some more room by screwing the shift stop bolt IN. Youll be fine afterwards, good luck.....my hurst used to do the same thing.

Take it back out and bring it back. It is usually a syncro problem or a shift fork problem. I've had the same problem with T-5's before. You don't have "Shift linkage" on a T-5 so that's not a problem. Also, check to make sure that all the bolts are tight from the bellhousing to motor, and tranny to bellhousing.

I guess you could try that too, but it was never my problem... Always an internal parts problem. Try that first and what I suggested, and if it doesn't work... It's an internal parts problem.

Also check to make sure your clutch cable isn't too loose. I had the same problem on mine and I use a Tri-Axe shifter. The clutch wasn't fully releasing and occationally I didn't get it all the way into first. Tightened the cable just a hair and it went in smooth every time.

*BANG!!!* Scares the crap out of you when it happens though, don't it?
