Popping in speakers with bazooka tube

I recently installed an 8" Bazooka tube in my 1990 hatch. It works well, but I get a loud popping noise through all of the speakers (not just the sub) when I skip tracks on my JVC head unit. I also get a pop when I power the stereo on and off.

In trying to gather a little more information, I unplugged the harness from the tube and tried the stereo. No popping. Then, I plugged the harness back in, and only unplugged the RCA cables at the sub. No popping again.

Does it sound like I have a problem in my sub, radio or somewhere else? Let me know if there's any more information needed.

Try finding a better ground for the bass tube. It sounds like the internal amp on the tube is using the shield on the RCA as a ground, thus causing the problem on all the speakers. File away the paint and screw the ground wire down to the body of the car as that may help/solve the problem. If not try a different set of RCA cables.
