So, ive been noticing a popping sound when im at full turn or when making a K-turn, etc. the wheel is pretty tight too. tough to turn. guesses on what could be making this noise?

96 GT vert, nondaily driver, front suspension = 04 cobra a-arms, steeda X2 ball joints, BAER brakes, etc etc etc... doesnt sound like anything is rubbing, i doubled and triple checked. it almost sounds like a bushing popping , ive heard urethane bushing would do that but i only have them on my ball joints and end links.

hmmmm?

The bushings on the rack & pinion are known to make popping noises specially when turning into driveways and such

they are the original bushings, 80K on my 96 , would a popping noise indicate they are on their way out and need replacement? or were they known to always "pop" , ive never had this problem.
FWI: my car sat for awhile, only started and driven a few blocks just to get things flowing, im just getting time to get her back to her prime days.

Just at some point in their lifetime they begin to pop, I think ford has a TSB for that.

Your lower ball-joints are on the way out. Replace them and the outer tie-rods, no more popping sound.

ball joints and tie rods are about 1 year old. Steeda X2 ball joints and Baer tie rods. ill regrease the ball joints, the car sat for awhile, maybe they dried out.... IDK
