popping noise in the rear-end

Ok heres the problem, not everytime but sometimes when i let out on the clutch or tap the gas while coasting my rear-end makes a popping noise. I think it might be my u-joint but I wwanted to get some opinions before i started ripping into it.

Your're trak-lok might need a rebuild. That's what mine needed.

Hey Jachmar,

Is the sound your talking about almost like banging metal? I have an issue somewhat like that but I thought it was comming more from the middle of my car. Like right around the end of the trans. I thought it was the clucth, replaced it. Still have the sound. I am actually going to weld my exhaust to the car,( because of of massive exhaust vibration ). I bought a new shifter and driveshaft that i am going to put on next sunday. If that works I will let you know.

So if you find out what it is.. Please let me know as well.

Also I thought it might be something with my posi but i didnt wanna believe that.
Whats involved with redoing the posi??
