Dear Mustang Enthusiasts,

I have a 1997 Cobra with over a 150k miles on it. She runs great!! I recently had all shocks and struts replaced. Now, the car is making a popping sound from the underneath as if it is coming from the wheels. When I let out the clutch, I hear the sound and on occasion when I turn the wheel or go over a bump. The sound is definitely not coming from the motor. It sounds as if it is coming from the wheels. It mostly comes from the rear. I also have a little squeek but less noticeable than this popping sound.

Thoughts?

Warmly, Alan

Well with mileage getting up there general maintenance
should be on the top of your list.
I have a simpler popping noise coming from my front end.
I was told by my front end guy that it could all of these.
Spring isolators,ball joints,a arm bushings.
At your mileage you should have already replaced your
inner and outer tie rods and steering rack bushings.
If you don't know about suspension you should have
your Cobra diagnosed by a shop.
